hhmmmm
Day 10 was Monday and Back to work. I teach Pre-K, is this a gift in and of its self? My grander gift of the day if you will is that a friend of mine's baby was put in the hospital again on Monday and she asked me to come sit with her, I agreed to do so, putting aside my own exhaustion knowing that it can in no way match hers and also wanting to be there for her. When I called her to ask if she wanted me to bring her tea or something she said that she needed to go to sleep, but no thank you she just wanted to go to bed and i didn't need to come anymore. So i suppose my gift was more in offering my time and company rather than actually having the opportunity to give it.
Day 11's gift also went to this friend, I have been very exhausted and not wanting to talk to anyone just go to bed, despite this I spent over an hour on the phone with her visiting, knowing that she needed a friend and soemone to chat with
Today --- Day 12, Actually today's gift was to the same friend. The baby came home from the hospital today but Ri, not having any family in the area and a husband at work sent me a text asking if i knew anyone who might be able to meet her and help her get in to the house with the baby and all the machines and other stuff that he has. I took time out form my work day and thought about who might be able to help, sent a few texts and helped make contact between my friend and one of my roommates who happens to have a short work day on Wednesdays. My roommate was able to help out.... what a blessing.
