Apparently I am wretched at writing over the weekends. :) Anyway, moving right along, here are my gives for the last several days:
Day 11: Not a huge day, but I did take some time and chatted with my mom when she called. She wanted to tell me a few new jokes she had and some cute things my niece had done. Megan also made a donation to Jesse's Place in my name, so I'm halfway counting that!!!
Day 12: The Salvation Army alawys makes it easy to give if you haven't done anything yet that day! There was a kettle ringer outside while a co-worker and I were on our way to do some damage at Banana Republic's sale. Clearly, I did have money to spare, so I dropped some in his bucket.
Day 13: Two of Joseph's close friends from high school, who also happen to have been dating for 6 years, had us and two other couples over for a really fun dinner party. Margaret made Italian sausage lasagna and decorated everything so cute! I decided that since she was going to so much effort, I wanted to contribute. Saturday morning, I went to Safeway and bought tons of stuff to make candy. I brought trays of: chocolate & white chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered cherries, and peppermint bark. I made every couple their own take-home box, too. :)
Day 14: Another easy give, I went to church and put my money in the collection plate when it passed.
Day 15: This morning, a give presented itself bright and early. My friend Megan sent me the resume of our mutual friend, Carolyn, who has recently lost her job, so I took about 20 minutes and went through it making some changes before it went out. I'm no resume expert, but after six years in HR, I have seen literally thousands and have gotten pretty good at scanning them for errors quickly!
I'm trying to think of some good ideas for this week. I'm really excited because I have a few parties and The Nutcracker, but I want to make sure I don't pay so much attention to those things that I skimp on giving!
