Well, I figured I should catch up on things since I'm about to leave for Christmas and will already have a stack of giving to update you on for Days 24-28...which means I'll only be one day away from finishing!
Day 18: Today I sent a book to one of my close friends. She just got engaged and is beyond excited, but is already starting to feel the pressure of planning a destination wedding. I ordered her The Knot's guide to destination weddings. I hope she likes it!
Day 19: I'm counting attending Joseph's work Christmas party as my gift for the day. It's not that finance people aren't fascinating, but if I had to pick my ideal Friday night, it probably wouldn't involve a black cocktail dress, heels and a group of strangers.
Day 20: I spent a few hours Saturday working on some scrapbook pages for my mom. That's all she wanted for Christmas, and she has meticulously made scrapbooks of my life, my sister's, and my cousin Florence's. Janie and I recieved ours when we turned 21 and Florence got hers at 18. These things take a LOT of time to put together. Even when you try to do as few pages as possible, 18+ years of life is a lot of time to chronicle. I hope she enjoys them!
Day 21: Joseph and I went to Krissy & Ryan's house for dinner, so I bought them an ornament candy dish and made some sugar cookies with Reese's cups in them, and of course peppermint bark. :)
Day 22: Today's gift was the gift of convenience for my sister. As I've mentioned, she's 9 months pregnant and still has a nasty cold. She asked if I could change my 12/23 flight to an earlier time. It involved $50 and waking up at the crack of dawn on Tuesday so I could drop Paisley off at the vet before work rather than after, but my sister is growing a human, which is some pretty important work that she needs all her energy for.
Day 23: Nothing yet, but I'm sure an opportunity will present itself when I'm at the airport!
For now, I'm offline until after Christmas. I hope you are all spending the holidays with people you love. I'm thrilled to be with my sister this year and to see a little child enjoying the magic of the season, cheesy as it sounds. Merry Christmas!
