29-Day Giving Challenge

Monday, my gift was downtime for my daughters; I let them sleep in, tinker with the stuff they got for Christmas and we all sat on the couch and started Disc 1 of their Glee Season 2 set.  Tuesday, my gift was being at my honey's side all day and all night as he battled through nausea and diarrhea; it was a very bad case of stomach flu, and he has lost 5 pounds because of it; he's still not 100% today.  Wednesday, my gift was a phone call to my Mom who sounded really happy; I didn't talk with my Dad as he has difficulty hearing and gets easily frustrated, but I could hear him in the background, and he sounded really happy, too.  Yesterday, my gift was an offer to our local museum, where my girls do volunteer time every month, to help out with their toddler and adult programs.  The curator mentioned that the city was cutting their budget and laying off staff; I felt really bad about it, so I said I'd do it if the city is keeping the museum open.  Today my gift is a trip to the library for my daughter and just nice bonding time with her walking around downtown and eating at our favorite Thai restaurant.  Tomorrow, my husband and I have a very special gift for our girls.  An end-of-the-year gift:  a 3-day weekend in Portland.  We are taking the girls ice skating, book shopping and malling!  Yay!  Happy New Year to everyone!

I hope your husband is completely healed now and that you will all enjoy your weekend in Portland.  Will you be iceskating at Loyd's Center? I head they recently re-did that whole area and it is really nice.  You gave very loving gifts as always.
