Yesterday, day 28, was veterans day, so I had the day off from work, I decided to give myself some much needed rest. It was really nice, because I am out and about so much with a full time job, the healing center, my sister and volunteering at the animal shelter. I didn't realize how tired I was. I didn't forget to take some time out to send prayers, good thoughts and healing energies to all the veterans, and our men and women in the military.
Day 29, hard to believe it's day 29 already. The time has flown by. Today I donated some fabric, bric a brac, beads and other craft items to our program. Every year the different departments at Saavi and other organizations buy and decorate trees to auction off and the proceeds go to different charities. I also helped an elderly gentleman find his way when he wandered into the wrong restroom and had an "accident". He was very embarrassed, and I tried to help him keep a little dignity by finding a male staff who is very sensitive to these type of situations. Of course, I pretended like I did not notice and made him laugh by describing my own mistaken foray into the men's room. He is a sweet likable man, who has recently lost his sight and is still finding his way around. One of the best things about Saavi is the wonderful staff who do so much for so many. Tomorrow I am starting round 2 on my 29 days of giving.
