29-Day Giving Challenge

Day 3:  Waived the co-pay for a patient.  Not a very creative gift, but much appreciated!
Day 4:  The gift I planned for today fell through.  A few weeks ago an older patient stopped by the office to wish me a Merry Christmas and tell me that she wanted to come back for acupuncture when she had the money.  We booked her for an appointment, which was scheduled for this morning, knowing that it would fall within my 29 days and could be the gift for today.  Well, it's snowing here in Maine and she canceled her appointment because she didn't want to drive in the bad weather.  But an amazing giving opportunity took its place.  I have a patient whose son died unexpectedly about a month ago.  This patient was in today and told me about a meeting he had earlier today.  The town where I practice is looking at building something for the community and this patient has donated some money towards the project and sits on the committee.  They told him today that they are going to name the new park in memory of his son.  Today's gift was telling him to put the charge for his treatment towards the park in his son's name.  Clearly, today's gift was supposed to be his.
