Time goes so quickly and yet I have been ever aware of the challenge in my life of giving and ever aware of the feeling I get as it happens.
Day 4 was Thanksgiving. And easy day to give to others. So much to be thankful for in my life and my little one and I, my partner in crime, we gave and gave and gave and it felt GREAT.
The following day - Friday - all I wanted to do was be at home and clean and do next to nothing - but I decided to go to my home town and give to my family - the gift of time with Ellie and me. My mom could not have been happier. She said thank you so many times it was well worth the trip. While I was there, I hooked up the TV and helped a little around the house as well - was happy to do it - felt good to be there and actually smiled on the way home.
Saturday - a hard day for me... but, I was determined not to get in a funk. I dropped my daughter with her dad, (a whole other story that I won't get into) and I was able to meet a friend from Seattle - I paid - my gift. It was great to sit and chat with her - her gift (though she might not even be aware)... a nice way to start the day...
Sunday... gift to myself - a nap
Monday - I personally think it is always hard to come back from several days off - and especially being in any kind of business where the end the month is important - so, today, November 30, tough day because most of my staff was off since Wednesday... They all worked so hard today and I just sent them an email thanking them. I am hoping that when they open their emails tomorrow morning they will be happy at the small gift of a thank you ...
Much more to come.
