29-Day Giving Challenge

Ok so I have had a busy past few days. I used the little gift calendar app so that I would be able to keep track of it all. Well here goes.....
Day 5 I treated a friend of mine to Cocoa in the morning cause it was wonderfully early and I happened to run into them at Kum and Go. It was just a little gift but it still brightened my day.

Day 6 was horrible.... Here is the situation. I have no water at my house. I am not sure if we have to dig a new well or what (Still hoping and praying that thawing might inspire a miraculous filling of the well). My friends car that I am driving because mine are both broke with no hope of financing a fix anytime soon, blew a tire on the way to work. I stood outside in 20 degree weather with the snowflakes lightly falling and no one I mean NO ONE stopped to help. This included two count them two state patrol officers that drove past me. Now you may say maybe they didn't see me. NOPE I was standing outside of my car with the hood and trunk open, hazards on and a little triangle out! Needless to say I was not amused. Fought with my hubby to come and help me because no one else was. And then had my sugars go sky high from the stress. SO I ended up having a day off cause I was at this point boarderline hysterical and really not doing so well. I was also extremely homesick@!

So I got to my observation and thought I needed to say thank you to the teacher that is letting me watch her class so I decided I would also get her a little bag of chocolates for my gift for the day. I ended up helping out more than I thought I would while I was there and felt a little better about life.

Day 7
Ok there are the gifts you give and plan for then there are the ones that you just do on the fly. This one was one I did just on the fly. A friend of my son's was allowed to come over and spend the night. You see this normally wouldn't be a gift but, my son was not deserving of a friend being over and apparently this child had no where else to go. So he got to stay at my house. I consider it a gift because I was in no way shape or form wanting to have another 12 year old at my house this weekend!

Day 8 So today was my day to give to service. I was having a hard time with this because my son had and unexpected friend over, I was having difficulty getting a hold of his parents and I was scheduled to volunteer. So things worked out but it was really cramped on time and on availability of things to do. I have scheduled some time to help a kid I met in my specialty so hopefully this will turn out to be a very productive thing. I would like to see him succeed.

Day 9
Well today was a gift for my grandmother. I took her to the grocery store and did some things around her house for her. I am really struggling as I am stressed for time and lacking in energy. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Hopefully it has thawed enough and miraculously there will be water again. I meet with the crew so pray for good news for me.

Have a blessed time until next time!

uggh, life somtimes; huh??
good to hear from you again though.
And i see you're still doing what you can to make life a bit better for others ... even when it seems no one is willing to stop and help you (what kind of state patrol people are they??)

You are amazingly strong to keep giving of yourself when you're having to deal with so much stress of your own!
Hang in there, girl. Fingers crossed for you! :)
