I am reminding myself that it is important to blog everyday. The fact is otherwise I forget and the day becomes a distant memory.
Day 5 is "post veteran's day" for me. Hard to beat the great feeling I had that day. So, small gesture. but needed. My stepson was is desparate need of a shower curtain. A recent stay at his place determined that he needed a replacement. Mold just doesn't bode well particularly with all the germs going around. So, I mailed a replacement shower curtin liner to him. I bet he doesn't even realize he needs one until he receives this!
Day 6 I am a member of a club in my town and my "job" is membership. This is a tough year and some ladies cannot afford to renew their memberships. I discussed with the prez some of these issues and we made sure there were remedies for those involved. One in particular has an illness and we both decided to make sure her membership got paid by us. What I thought was going to be just me taking care of it ended up with 2 of us pitching in. So I guess you might say it was a 2'fer today!! We both felt great.....
Day 7 Church supper-my friends had invited us to come and sit at their table at the church supper. I am not a actual member of the church, attending when I can, but my husband is turned off by organized religion of any sort. My special friends really wanted us to attend so they could share a meal with us and also meet my husband. We went, brought can goods for the food pantry, bought raffle tickets and took along a salad for the table. It was a wonderful time and we enjoyed being part of one of the earliest New England traditions......the church supper.
