Day 8: Sent a thank you e-mail to a woman who led a course on Finding Your Strengths. It was in June, 2010 that she asked us, for homework, to answer the following question: “If money were no object, what would you do to with your talents for the kingdom of God?”
We wrote down our answers, read them the next week, and then she said we could do that right now. A year and a half later, I find I'm doing exactly what I wrote on that paper.
Day 9: Drove a friend to an event. I didn't want to drive, but decided earlier in the day that I would offer as I knew he wouldn't want to.

Comment by RebeccaGallo on January 30, 2012 at 8:30pm Oh how fascinating Linda! Would love to see this play. Too bad I can't get to Chicago before 3/11 when it closes:( But what a great place to meet an organizer!
Very nice gifts.....I don't exactly remember the quote, but it's something about the teacher will appear when the student is ready, so perhaps that's the case for your Finding Your Strengths experience. I'm all about learning new things about myself and trying to constantly tweak my strengths and diminish my weaknesses, so I sure this is a good thing for you....
I saw this play today, based on a true story of two eccentric wealthy brothers in New York in 1947) and happened to meet another professional organizer in the audience-I was thinking of you and bet that you would have enjoyed the play as well...
XOXO
Comment by RebeccaGallo on January 29, 2012 at 5:41pm Thanks, Lois. This is my favorite pic of myself. I feel like this photographer just captured who I am - or who I feel myself to be. It was a spur-of-the-moment shot he took when we were just hanging out one day.
Your day 8 is very interesting.....and day 9 was very thoughtful. I always have loved your profile pic, your smile is very sweet....
Comment by RebeccaGallo on January 29, 2012 at 5:33pm Thanks, Deb. Funny - I was just talking to a friend the other day who said he'd read how women start their lives doing everything for everyone else, then they start to focus on themselves for a bit (ideally). Then, the final stage of development is to find a way to balance both. I definitely lived for others up through my college years and after college for a bit, then switched to all about myself, and now I'm searching for the balance.
You always do such thoughtful things for others Rebecca~
