How has so much time gone by!? I'm on the road, traveling with family and friends, but still working on 29 gifts. I haven't been advertising it, but every once in a while I mention it casually, and people are very interested.
Day 8 I went to my monthly "support group" for a quilt we're each making that will probably take us years to make. I took a book that someone mentioned she'd like to read, and gave it to her. And she gave me one back! It amazes me that I can't GIVE anything without GETTING back! I offered colored strips of fabric to the other quilters, but ended up getting more than I gave away. Next month, I'm going to have to pack treats or something. Just can't give to these people!
Day 9 I drove down to my father's to visit overnight, took bread from Great Harvest, but really the gift was me visiting.
Day 10 Still at my dad's, and aware of how much it meant to him that I was there.
Day 11 Drove to Milwaukee with two friends to a quilt show. Paid for their admission and bought them each a small quilting tool. Attended a small concert at the coffee shop and took pictures for the band. I'll send them later.
Day 12 Drove to Colorado with my husband and son, took homemade (purchased) caramels and apple pies for them. But, being with them was their gift to me!!
Day 13 Snowshoed with my husband and son. All day they gave to me!!! But I bought their dinner.
Day 14 Skied all day with my husband and son. Again, they fluttered around me, making sure I was doing ok and comfortable. How did I get to be so lucky? I began managing and posting their pictures from our trip, so when they get home, they'll all be ready for whatever they want.
Today is the 15th day, a rest day from travel and extreme exercise. I'm going to look for some random people maybe I can surprise. I'm a lucky woman.
