Goodness,
didnt realise it had been so long since i had last written! Going back to university on sunday has made me really busy :)
Ok,
day five was spent with my family as i was leaving to go back to uni in a few days time. It was really nice giving my time to all of my family. I also gave a bag of toffee to a lady selling the big issue ( a magazine in the UK that homeless people sell). It was really rewarding to see her smile.
On day six my cousins friend spoke to me and said she was really missing my cousin who has gone travelling for a year. I immediately invited her to my house to watch films and sing kareoke. Giving my time to her was amazing. I recieved so much gratitude from her which was lovely. I've started to realise that giving doesnt have to cost money. I think the small things like giving a hug or smile are often priceless.
On day seven i was travelling to uni, which was a four hour drive. I drove for the first two hours to give my parents a rest. Once we got to uni when i saw people struggling with all of their luggage i offered to help them. I also spent time listening to a friend in need.
Day eight was my first day back in lectures, and i was worried that i wouldnt think of any gives for the day. However, when i walked to my lectures a spotted a man holding magazines and trying to talk to people but was being ignored. I went up to him smiling, listened to what he had to say encouragingly, and the purchased one of his magazines so that he could raise money to go to Mozambique to do relief work. Seeing him smile as he spoke about his intentions was lovely.
Day nine was also spent in university. I went to the psychology department and noticed that there were many people working really hard, so i bought some toffee and left it in the common room with an anonymous note attached wishing everyone a lovely day :)
Day ten was easy to give because i volunteered at a childrens play centre in the local prision for two hours. I had 12 children to play with, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Was so rewarding to see them playing happily, and then running to their dads to show them the toys they had found. I also wrote two cards today expressing my gratitude to some wonderful friends.
Today is day eleven, and im really not sure what i'm going to give. But, i am sure i will be given some inspiration during the day!
lots of love
xxxxx
