Yesterday was strange.
We thought my daughter-in-law was missing. It didn't look good. Even the police said as much based on suspicious credit card charges and the fact that she was with a friend who has an abusive husband.
After searching the police located her in W. Va. She had planned to go there withher friend to see another friend but never showed up at her destination. Hence all the worry.
In the end it was a misunderstanding regarding communication and the driver getting lost. All was well and that was a great gift to all of us!!!!!
I'm not sure what I gave. After the dust settled I wrote a letter to my friend who just found out she had a mass in her lungs. It felt like a gift of love to write it. Does that count?
Today I swept a very long driveway free of leaves to make it safe for the owner to go down the hill to get their mail. I did it as a meditation on love. It felt like a gift I was giving. I also purchased special booties to give to a friend once she is out of her ankle cast. I've been there, having had both ankles broken as a result of escaping a man with a gun. Keeping the ankles warm after such an injury makes a big difference. I'll give them to her when I see her so it'll be the gift for that day.
What did I receive? I don't much think about that. The day off, I think. I was expected to be somewhere for something rather tedious and in the end I wasn't needed.
Tonight hubby gets a foot rub.
