29-Day Giving Challenge

The last week has been crazy busy. I'm now 16 hours into my day and have a least 5 more before I get home from the airport. The good news is I've truly enjoyed the time spent with my son on his college visit today.

Giving has continued to be on my mind and hopefully shown through my actions. At this point I can't even remember what I did when but I'll try to back up and see what the ol' mind will let me remember! I was thinking that giving should be to others especially to strangers. Sitting here in the airport I realized I haven't given to a stranger all day. As I was getting a quick bite to eat I noticed the gentleman next to me left his table covered in trash. Another man came up, slid the mess over and sat done to eat dinner. All I could think was how disgusting to look at a dirty tray of half eaten food while you tried to eat your dinner. As I got up I cleared the dirty tray and told the man to enjoy his dinner. He looked at me utterly stunned. Something that simple can throw someone for a loop!

Yesterday I called our community outreach program after seeing a post for a single mom without a Christmas tree for her children this year, and donated a tree I had been saving and preparing to set up in the basement with my fun candy theme. I hope her kids enjoy it. I thought I'd throw in some candy canes and gum drops with all the candy themed ribbon, ornaments and and such.

Monday night my 8 and 9 year old Brownie scouts made the little boy Noah cards and I sent them express mail to arrive Friday to him.

One day I made a donation for a teacher at school that suffered a fire in her home.

Another day I slid 40 bucks into my 18 year old sons wallet without telling him and surprised my 9 year old with a 20. She'll freak when she finds it. She has such a giving heart naturally I can't wait to see what she does with it! I'll double it if she makes the effort to do something for someone else without my encouragement! I'll keep you posted!

Peanut and I (my 9 year old) went to the school book fair and purchased books for the book drive for the school my husbands work has adopted. I love books, they are such a weakness. I'd buy a book for every kid in the world if I could.

Oh, gotta run there's my plane. I'll write more tomorrow.
