Hi dear fellow givers. Its been quiet a while! I have been really too busy to blog or post my giving diary but I think that will change now!.
I was a guest speaker last Wed 8th February at a Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA)'s organised event. The programme director in her own words, hasn't ever heard of my name , so she decided to google my name to piece together information about me. When she did, she stumbled on my 29-day Giving Challenge blog!
At the event, she requested more information about the movement during tea time and I explained the concept to her. Unknowingly, the Free State Provincial Manager of SEDA who was on the same table I was seated was listening to the conversation. During her closing remark, she alluded to the joy of giving and not expecting anything in return and commended me for such thoughtful idea. A reporter from a prestigious local magazine was in attendance and also got to know of the movement for the first time.
At closing, the reporter approached me and requested an interview from me.He expressly mentioned that besides profiling me, he would want me to use the publication forum to introduce the movement to our WELKOM community!
The good news is that I just got a call from the newspaper and the interview is scheduled for tomorrow! Am hoping I will reach many people and get an opportuinity to entrench the movement's mission of GIVING in the minds of the Welkomites. May be we might even start our own brand of 29-Day Giving Challenge in our community and make a difference in our people's lives. The thought is exciting! If possible I will post extract from the magazine. Good day folks.
