Comment by Give a little ~ GALfriend on November 30, 2011 at 5:44pm Susan, at first I laughed at your comment in the first para, over 'who was going to get the credit', but it does become a serious matter when people are vying for control / approval. It is also easy to emulate behavior without even realising it. Kudos to you for recognising that you needed to change and, bigger, that you undertook that change. Sounds like an incredibly powerful message in that book. Thanks for noting it and hats off to you, sista!
Comment by Dawn wwt on November 30, 2011 at 12:38pm thank you so much for sharing this, Susan. i have begun to notice some of my Mom's behaviors in my own lately...ones that i would rather not emulate in my relationship with my husband... you have let me know that it is possible to make that change and pointed me in the right direction. you've given me a wonderful gift and i appreciate it. Hugs, Dawn
