Black friday is as good a day as any to start something wonderful. I feel so blessed that my mother told my daughter about the 29 days and my daughter invited me to do the 29 days. I have been praying for a closer bond with my mother and she doesn't know it but she has given me a wonderful gift. I braved the crowds yesterday for a short while and went in a Belk's store. There was a woman standing in front with the Salvation Army and the temperature was steadily dropping here and I guess she didn't come prepared. I didn't have much cash with me, but when I stopped to put my tiny amount in, she looked as though she was shivering.
I said, I bet you are cold, aren't you? She said,, "I am freezing." So when I was leaving Belk's I bought her some gloves to wear and brought them out to her. When I said, "these are for you," she looked stunned, but she quickly put them on. Tears came to my eyes because joy fills our hearts when we move outside of ourselves and I am so glad that my daughter helped me remember that... because I would have never looked for that opportunity without that mindful reminder.
