First day back to work after the snow...

Today I was back at work after living in my own little world for 5 days since the snowstorm of last weekend. I enjoy my job, but I have to say I miss the time I had to sit and think and write. Also, I am going to have to struggle today to think of what my gifts might have been. Every day at work I am able to give to somone else because of the nature of my job. I train teachers to use technology, work alongside them when they are teaching, and answer questions and trouble-shoot when they need help. The fact that I am helping them to do their job is what brings me much satisfaction in my job. However, I hope to go "above and beyond" my everyday giving. I still have this evening to see how I can help someone else or give them the gift of an empathetic sounding board. Yesterday I ran into a former colleague while shopping. She had much to say about health issues she is dealing with. In the past, I would have tried to move on much earlier than I did. Instead, I stood for about a half an hour and gave her my full attention as she talked. I hope it was helpful to her.
