29-Day Giving Challenge

I am normally very healthy and the past few days I have experienced signifcant pain in my back from an unexpected injury .... it spread around to chest muscles, too, and as I lay in bed awake, breathing through the pain, trying to locate and heal the source, I had the sense that my heart needed healing. Through my practice of yoga I have come to understand the connections among emotional and physical, and saw this as an opportunity to heal something deeper. My wise teachers say, when we heal ourselves, we heal the world. I allowed the message to come to me, and realized I needed to forgive the greatest emotional pains in my 42 years.

So, I did a life review, starting from childhood and working through to today. It was surprising which memories rose to the surface, and each in turn I forgave, and forgave, and forgave again. I also forgave myself, as well as others. For Christmas Eve, I gave the gift of forgiveness.

My back still hurts a bit, but I know that I am healing it now. The power of forgiveness is great.
