Hello :)
These past few days have been about the small gives. Ive begun to realise that i often give without noticing that i do so, so ive been really focusing on the small acts of kindness which make a big difference, even though it might not seem like it at the time.
On day 11 i went to the gym at 6.30, and even though alot of people there were quite sleepy, i made sure i gave them all an encourgaing smile whilst i saw them exercising at the gym. I also helped out a uni friend to deliver posters around the city to advertise free events that are on at college, so hopefully we'll have lots of people join us there :)
On day 12 i looked for places where i could volunteer in japan over the summer. I managed to find an orphanage address which i will try and write to (though i dont know any japanese), and i have found a soup kitchen which i have been in contact with. I also went round to a friends house later in the evening and cooked with her.
Day 13 was spent on a communication course, where i learned how to listen better and how to use my body language to make people feel more at ease. I enjoyed listening to people talk about their lives, especially as i knew how to be interested and encouraging. Hopefully this will allow me to give more to family and friends in the future. It was also a great recieve to learn these new skills. On the way home there was a busker playing lovely music, so i stopped and listened for awhile before donating a small amount of money with a big smile :) Standing by the musician were two tourists trying to take photos, so i offered to take some photos of the two of them.
Day 14 was fairly busy at uni, so i felt that i didnt give very much. I did offer many friendly smiles though, and started up conversations with cashiers and strangers, which felt good.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the challenge.
xxxxxxx
