Gathering Nuts for Winter
Today, the first sunny day after several winter storms, brought a wonderful gift... Lots of beautiful birds at the feeders that my husband and I put up in the yard. Red Cardinals, Blue Jays, Orioles and tiny wrens and even an ungraceful squirrel still trying to help himself to the bounty. It was so gratifying to see them use the feeders that they had been completely ignoring for a week or more. Success!
I've been gathering together warm winter outerwear to be sent to the Pine Ridge Reservation Indians in South Dakota. The call is out for items of all kinds, books for the schools, baby and new mother items..lots of needs.
I'm also on the prowl for some arts and crafts goodies to send to RubyJ, a very brave little girl at Post Pals.
Started on another five hats in five days challenge to myself, knitting for Salvation Knitters. It's great to be able to be busy and to hear and read all the buzz on 29gifts!

What a great reminder! Thank you. I always put food out in the winter for the birds and squirrels and haven't done this yet. I did see a cracked nut shell on my back porch though, I think they were trying to give me a hint! I'm going to get something out for them today.
