Gave my son a mental health day

This week I seemed to be so wrapped up in my own financial worries and adults needs that I almost forgot that kids stress out, too. Our son's learning style doesn't seem to be conducive to his 2nd grade teacher's approach. As a result, he speeds through his classwork, has lost focus and hardly enjoys school. She has recommended him for gifted and talented & is in the process of being tested for it, but in the meantime he is pretty upset being frequently reprimanded. Yesterday morning, he was pretty bummed on his way out to the bus stop. I decided to give him a mental health day. I'm so glad I did, he was so happy & we really enjoyed the day together. We went online & participated in a trial online schooling website. He loved it & I just loved seeing him happy to learn again, to be challenged! I'm glad I was able to relate to him instead of scolding him. My gift today was being offered a money making opportunity that can be done from home!
