getting to teach "Keeping An Artist's Journal"

I had the honor of teaching my class "Keeping an Artist's Journal" yesterday and last Monday to two groups of enthusiastic people and we all had a blast. I'm on such a high today.

What an interesting class and it's sweet to hear you got a high from teaching!! If only all teacher's were as passionate about their profession as you, our future (kids) would be in a much better shape. My daughter Jules is a natural artist. She's always had the ability since very young. I recall her terrible twos not being so terrible besides having to clean up paint or markers or crayons or even pastels. She had an easel and I bought her all kinds of paper when I realized her stick people looked better than mine at the age of 2! Lol reading your post makes me want to advocate her appreciation for teachers like you. To many it's a simple pastime but to an artist, it is LIFE! Blessings sent for such a beautiful gift to them and to you! Hugs.

Glad you had a great time teaching your class.  You are a gift to them!

Hi Valerie!

The first thing we do is loosen up with some fun (fear conquering exercises) . One of the main points is that anyone can learn to draw. It just takes practice to develop the hand eye coordination. I demonstrate and we get to practice contour drawing which develops the hand eye coordination.

Sounds like a fun class.  So Adine ... if it's not too much to ask ... what are some of the main points that you taught them in this class?

I know you really made the students realize their talents and dreams, Adine. You have got to be one of the sweetest teachers I know!!
