Another small gift today. A close friend from college recently broke up with her partner of 3 years. Tonight she was getting back the keys to their old apartment and moving back in. She's a very strong person, but like all of us, she sometimes loses faith in herself. Today I let her know how much she means to me and how very strong she is, even when she doesn't see it. I have suggested this challenge to her, and I hope that she finds the time to take part in it. My thoughts of peace and tranquility are with her.
I was listening to the book "Nurtureshock" today, and the final chapter has to do with the importance of gratitude. A recent study found that when college students keep a gratitude journal every day for two weeks, their overall enjoyment of life and happiness improve. It is comforting to know that we are increasing joy just by being grateful for the gifts in our lives.
