29-Day Giving Challenge

Oh My Goodness. How is it possible that is has been six months since my last update here? Quite a six months it has been. I now live in Nebraska. Mark and I split up, which has of course, been heartbreaking. I just couldn't stay in LA after the split because everything reminded me of him and us. There's also the harsh reality that I couldn't afford to live there on my own. Most of all, I was a wreck and needed a safe place to come undone for a while. So I moved back home. I've been staying with my parents when I'm not traveling for speaking gigs with the book. I've had a hard time physically so haven't been working lately. It seems like I've cried all the tears I can generate, so I'm finally feeling ready to go back to some type of routine and schedule. I have trips booked this month so we'll see how I do.

I've stayed close to home with my giving lately. Many of my gifts seem to go to my sister. I have been helping her out with her two children when I can. Tonight I babysat for her kids and the children of another friend. I've also helped by cleaning up around the house. One time I did twelve loads of laundry over the course of a few days. My sister has two rockin kids. My niece is 10 and my nephew is 5. One of the added benefits of being back home is I get to spend a lot of time with them.

My little dog, Charlie, is loving it here. He loves to go outside and run circles around my parent's yard. He's never had a yard of his own before. Plus, my mom has a little puppy named Bella, so Charlie has a steady girlfriend now. They are pretty darn adorable together. I'll have to shoot some video of them playing.

I want to say thanks to all of you who sent me cards and packages while I was in the hospital. I'm on the mend now. I'm walking again and have sensation back in most of my body. Luckily it appears the flare of symptoms is coming from old nervous system damage as it appears there are no new lesions on my brain or spinal cord. That's good news. All of your prayers and positive energy helped me through a pretty dark time. Thank you so much.

I'm happy to say I'm back in commission so watch for more updates here. We'll be launching a big giveaway next week as well as some other fun things so stay tuned for details. Love and light to all of you.

I am sorry to hear about you break up with Mark. I have been through it, so I know how hard it is. The mindfulness you first learned starting 29 Gifts - and have shared w/ all of us - will surely serve you well during this difficult time. Thinking of you.

I am new to this site and actually today i am going to have a endometrial biopsy done to R/O cancer... I just want you to know I am taking your book with me, I purchased it several days ago but decided to start reading it while I waited in the waiting room, you are such a inspiration to so many people, even though you feel like the world is dark, sharing your brave journey is the best gift you could ever give, you've changed so many people's perspective about their own lives and given hope to so many, my gratitude and prayers are greatly extended to you.....

Cami,
I am sorry to hear about you and Mark. I am also sorry to hear you had another flare. I hope that you will continue to feel better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how "fun" those flares are... I've had RRMS since 2006. All the best to you.

Ditto to the comments stated. February can be a difficult month for me and this year as I put into practice "29 Gifts" I was truly blessed with a positive spirit. May God continue to bless you as you are surrounded with those who love you and that includes all of us.
