Giving in my heart

I have to say that although I don't visit often or work to "formally" give every day, giving is in my heart almost every day. It feels fabulous to witness the ripple effect of brightening someone's day.

Just a few days ago, the computer systems at Panera were on the fritz, slowing down the line & causing frustration for the woman in line in front of me, who had a limited break from work and needed her bagels! I told the clerk to just give them to her & I'd pay for them when they straightened out the computer issue. Not much, but hopefully allowed the lady to feel a little less stress!

That's what I think this process is about -- just being more mindful of the positive effect we can have on others. It's kind of like the saying about a candle losing nothing by lighting another candle ... I have to say I gain an awful lot by lighting others' candles!!!!
