Giving Thanks
I think I'm going to end up consolidating all my days of giving instead of continuing to say, "Day One!" over and over again when I don't have time to blog about what I've been doing.
Tonight I wrote a long overdue thank you letter to a friend who was with me the day after my birthday, only a few days after the breakup with my ex. I took her to lunch and she went with me to help pick out my shiny new Blackberry and phone plan, then she gifted me with a very relaxing facial to top off the day. It was a wonderful time and we've had so many moments since then that I am grateful for.
We are going to see Krishna Das do a kirtan this month and she stepped up to the plate to buy the tickets, so instead of just sending a check in a business envelope the way I did with the rest of my bills, I sent her a card and wrote to tell her how much that day meant to me and how much her friendship enriches my life.
I've been thinking a lot and noticing the difference in my life between the times I'm in the flow of giving and the times I feel like I'm holding back. I'd rather be in league with the givers. :-)
