Grateful to be able to give & grateful 4 gifts received!!

...most importantly i am so thankful for the gift of "stable" health. This time of year I reflect back on how much we have survived especially over the past year & a half. During that time both of us were in hospital several times & we were so uncertain of the outcome. Thanks to all of U in our 29 Gifts community for being so supportive during those times. I'm still saying prayers of thanx 4 each of U.  Hard to believe it's a little over 2 years ago already since I joined U guys. My life has never been richer, even with "life on life's terms"  issues, & even if not monetarily. We all have good times & not so good. But I believe in my heart that sharing the good & not so good makes life so much better.  I was fortunate to discover i had some earned vacation time I didn't know I had. We had to use it or lose it by 12/31! I was just going to stay home for some 3 day weekends, b/c money is tight. Well, it ended up that we took a few days & went to the Florida Keys - at Janet's insistence! she reminded me that while we can go out & do things, we should, because there have been & will be more times when we can't.  She was so right! Jan got the plane tickets for us. A friend of ours has a place there & nicely let us stay there & wouldn't take money. So of course, we did some projects, washed windows, bought new curtains, a gift card for Winn-Dixie, and a gift certificate for dinner at her favorite restaurant down there.  We went to an animal shelter there & donated $20 plus I tucked in a KMart $5 card I had just received when we bought the curtains moments earlier! Just before we left for Fla I got a WaWa gift card for my co-worker whose husband is gravely ill. I mailed it anonymously. She can buy gas with the card, b/c he's in hospital & it's quite a trip for her. Even though I had to use my credit card to do it, I just had to do something in addition to praying of course.  This morning at 515am I  sat down in the lobby LOL aka carpeted steps in our apartment building & waited for the newspaper delivery people & gave them a $$ gift & got to thank them in person. Suggested that next year they put their address in with their greeting (wink). I look forward to another year of stealth giving & I love the inspiring ideas I've read here on this site! U R all very generous, creative & wonderful people & I am so fortunate to "know" U!!!
