Happy Valentines' Day! Time to stop and smell the roses!

Good morning everyone,

This week was busy with taxes and year-end reports but we managed to find some time each day to "stop and smell the roses." In anticipation of Valentine's day, we:

Monday - made love song CD's for some friends

Tuesday- helped Rob paint frames for gifts to sibs; I took my husbands's night shift with Rob (we trade off) so he could catch up on his zzz's.

Wednesday - purchased "Valentine grab bags" (a fundraiser) from Rob's day program to be given anonymously to clients who don't receive any other valentines at their party

Thursday- we gave Rob's caregivers Valentines and boxes of Valentine chocolates

Friday- I shared some tootsie roll pops I had stashed in my purse with ladies who were waiting in line with me to get their mammograms, and mailed out a few valentines.

Saturday- today will be busy. I'm helping a friend, who has a lot of health issues, deliver candles from a party we hosted for her last month. She's been in a lot of pain and isn't able to do it on her own this time. Then we'll be taking roses to the cemetery for my Dad, our baby Angela (stillborn in 1975), and very sadly for our very good friends' daughter, who passed in November from an embolism. She was only 22, is buried next to my Dad at our friends' request, and would actually have turned 23 tomorrow, Valentine's Day. This will be a very emotional weekend for her family, so we will make ourselves available any way we can.

On a brighter note, there's a Home and Garden Show in Denver today (flowers!) and Rob, my husband Mike and I plan to go for a couple of hours as a gift to each other because sometimes life's events remind us that we just need to stop and smell the roses. I'm really looking forward to a couple of hours of springtime!

Wishing you all a weekend filled with love, laughter and appreciation for the ones you love, as well as anyone who is feeling unloved. Happy Valentines Day!

Love,
Stephanie and Rob
