Homemade Organic Face Lotion Recipe

So far my quest to try new things in the new year is going great! I decided to make this lotion myself because I was looking for a good organic moisturizer and they were all in the $20-$50 range for a month's supply! :0 That's crazy!
I made a month's supply for less than $5.00, and it was all available at my local herb shop in bulk. It's as easy as combining the ingredients in a jar and giving it a shake! Since some of the oils were refrigerated, I refrigerate my lotion. Before application I let it sit out for 30 minutes so the ingredients come together properly.
Here's the recipe:

*For mine, I eliminated the sweet almond oil because it's hard to find in organic form. I replaced it with rosehip seed oil.

FYI Dawn: I was able to buy the rosehip oil in bulk. I only bought a tiny bit. Since I only used 10 drops of it in the recipe, I didn't need much.

that is awesome! when i first looked at the price of the rosehip oil, i thought "eek!" but then when i looked at the recipe i realized that one bottle would make about two years worth of this moisturizer :o)  beats the heck out of the commercial products! thanks so much! Hugs, Dawn xoxo

I like this because it's really light. It goes on wet due to the aloe, but then dries right away leaving a silky finish. When I use a regular face cream, I always end up getting sweaty and losing most of it. This one absorbs right into the skin and doesn't make me sweaty. Once it's on, i don't notice it's there, which I like.

Wow, thanks!  I have been looking at moisturizers lately and you are right - very expensive. Pauline
