It's been way too long since my last contact/post, but I continue my gives and think of 29 Gifts all the time.
This Thanksgiving will be two years since a dear friend and mentor introduced the book to me. I've been living it ever since.
I don't know if any of the "old crowd" is still around, I hope so! I haven't had time to poke around the site, which looks like it's been busy!
After much mayhem, heartache, and unemployment challenges, my family is back together at home! Every day, as hectic as things get, Andrew and I thank G-d that we are all together, and everyone is employed!
I've recently discovered that if someone has to ask for help (like opening the door, or moving aside), then it's too late. I feel it's our (collective) responsibility to pay attention to who and what are around us so can jump in to help before someone is overwhelmed and has to ask. Just my opinion.
Holding doors for people with carriages, wheelchairs, complimenting younger people who are new to their jobs, treating my neices to their favorite restaurants, dropping off a surprise gift card for my sister when I know pay day is far off and things are tight, smiling more and whining less, that's my summary of 29 gifts. I know there's more. Just too tired to write for now.
But I am here and my journey continues. This place feels oh so comfortable.
I wish each of you peace and blessings :)))
Susan

Comment by Dawn wwt on November 14, 2011 at 4:25am Hi, Susan! i'm so glad to hear from you and that things are well with you and yours. i've wondered how you were doing but didn't want to be a pest :-) i know how busy life can be. good observation about being aware of peoples' needs...it sure would make things a lot nicer if everyone did that wouldn't it! i will work harder at it myself. yes, some of us "oldies but goodies" are still here LOL. Hugs, Dawn
