29-Day Giving Challenge

It works, it really does work. Only now I was able to sit down and think about all the things that happened in the last 5 weeks. I had a very nasty ( but a great moment of learning) depressive episode during Christmas. I went as down as anyone can imagine to the point of knowing that was not me, and that I wanted my "old me" back. I did all the tricks possible, slept for hours and hours, read inspirational quotes and books, went out for walks, and nothing was working. Everything seemed dark and I could not see any light, it was dreadful. It was as if I was seeing the shadow of my life. On thursday the 8th of January ( not a long time ago) I went out and decided to by a diary ( I am crazy about diaries), there and then I decided that it would be my 29th Gifts and my Gratitude Diary, and started it one act of kindness and a couple of things that I was grateful for. By Sunday I was "me" again, don't ask me how it happened it just did. Along the week I found at least two people in the same situation one at the "wishuponahero" site and another at the "helpothers". I wrote to them and told them what had happened to me. Both returned to me in a couple days saying that their depression had lifted and they were able to see the light again. One of the people is now a member of the 29gifts. As I am writing this post I can't stop thinking how magnificient are the ways of the Creator. In one of my gratitude notes I had also requested to be an instrument of God's will and kindness. What amazes me even more it's the speed of all this. In a week so many fantastic things happened, and especially yesterday for me was the most magical day I can remember. I wrote a post at the end of the day, in which I finished by saying how much I felt I loved every single person in this planet, and that feeling was straight from the heart. There are not adequate words to explain it. But the message is b>IT WORKS, YES IT DOES!!!!!!</</b>

A gratitude diary is something I need to resume in my life.  Thanks for the reminder.  Glad you're feeling better too.

Ana - you've reminded me about a gratitude diary I started years ago and forgot about until I read this post!  And how I missed this post, I don't know, but so glad I found it, even if 'late'.  Searching diligently for my gratitude diary this evening - who know?  Maybe I'll find my missing cell phone in the process!

I'm sorry to read you were so down over Christmas. I had no idea.  You are one of a few who can completely change my down mood to high with one of our skype calls.  I cherish our very long distance friendship and hope that we really do get to meet one day - whether here in Texas or over there in the UK.  Hug your family for me.  Sending the love right back.

I love your blog, it surely does work, and it is so easy, many will not try it. I am glad that you did try.
