What I gave: I had a date to have tea with a friend who works on the same college campus that I do. We haven't seen eachother since I was hired, in November (even though we are on campus). We finally decided that we had to get together if only to set up a lunch date and have some tea while we looked at our calanders. It was sooo good to see her! She has been such an Angel in my life and has been the doorway to so much growth, support, and inspiration to me (although she would never say so herself). I am so happy to see her life as it is full of happiness and abundance. It could not happen to a more wonderful person. It is so wonderful to see GOOD THINGS happen to GOOD PEOPLE. I brought her a blooming bulb and spent a significant time picking out the flower pot because she likes particular colors and is very fashion savy. I was sure I had picked out the perfect one (as I had found one in just her favorite color of sweet pea green). She loved it and when we email back and forth she will say that she is looking at the plant I brought her. She is one of those just perfect woman that make everything look easy and is always so thoughtful. I could tell that she was embarrassed as she is usually the one that is giving little pretties and always has something in return. This time I caught her by surprise, and she didn't have any "thing". She had everything- who SHE is- and that is extraordinary. She gives me the gift of her friendship, and I got to bless HER simply and beautifully as a mirror back to her of her unique presense.
What I got: A wonderful conversation and a few intimate moments with a friend I do not see or talk to much as we are both working moms and busier that God. BUT, it counted. It counted oh so much... Why go on measuring wonderful? It just IS in whatever capacity you can catch it...
