It's been a long time since I wrote anything here but I can honestly say that the challenge has changed me. I might not write about it but I find myself acknowledging the gifts that are given to me, so much more easily now and I find giving them comes more and more naturally and I like the way it all feels. What I am not good at is giving to myself but today, I realised I am actually better at it than I thought.
Over the last week or so, my husband and I have been systematically clearing out 10 years of rubbish, which have accumulated under our roof, in our cupboards, in the shed and in any corner where there's a space but bit by bit, we are sorting, clearing and cleansing our space. It feels almost spiritual to be moving all of this junk, taking it off to the recycling centre and charity shops, offering it up on freecycle and just generally seeing the extra stuff that we don't need go out of our lives and so, whilst it might be being recycled and reused wherever we can reuse it, I realise the very act of cleaning and clearing is a gift to myself and thought that fits very nicely with the theme for February, which whilst almost over, is something I am going to try to include more often in my giving cycles.
Happy giving and many blessings.
