29-Day Giving Challenge

Well, it took me some time to get going on this, but better late than never. Life has been pulling me in all directions and that is why I wanted to do this in the first place. I need to be grounded, and not like when I was a teenager. I mean with roots. So I asked the local MoW if they needed anyone and well the called me last week. I figured it would be a great first day! Who knows. I always tell my kids when they have a large task that they feel is bigger than them, "How do you eat an Elephant?" They always look at me funny, but no one ever answers. That is how I have felt about this 29 Gifts since I signed up on site. I hate social networking! But this will give me some anonymity and I can help others and I guess myself at the same time. I still have not talked this over with my wife either. I think she is going to think of me as a freak more than she already does. Who knows. Some day. I will post more when I have finished. OUT.

Well, that was different. Not exactly how I thought that was going to go. The first guy of my 10 deliveries was exactly how I thought it was going to go. A lonely man who wanted to talk. He was taking care of his wife and she kept him up all night and wanted to talk to someone about it. Nice man and I let him talk. After that I knew it was going to take me longer than the hour I had allowed for it. But most of my time was attempting to figure out where the next house was and the old people did not want anything to do with me after that. No big deal. They get to eat and I felt good helping them all out. Route 1, DONE! Not really sure how I feal other than that, but not that bad. I have lots of work to catch up on now, so I am OUT.

one bite at a time...it's great advise and applies to most things in life.

I understand the hesitation about social networking. It's not my favorite thing to do either but I've found the support here to be fantastic.

I also understand not telling everyone about it. I've only told a few people and I was surprised by how well they took the news...I have some pretty sarcastic friends but they have been completely supportive of me trying to change my life for the better.

Good Luck on your journey.
