29-Day Giving Challenge

Today sadly I gave a gift I wish I didn't have to give. I just found out a high school classmate of mine was killed over the weekend in a car crash. He was only 32 years old. I did not know him very well, but it still hits home when someone you grew up with passes away. So my gift today was to leave a message on his memory wall on the funeral parlor's website. I "lit a candle" and wrote a little message but I sent it anonomously since I didn't know him that well. I was reading through other people's comments as well and he will be very missed.

This sad new reminds me to reflect on all the blessing in my life and to realize that some of the things I've been stressing about are not even worth it. A pity it takes a tragedy to remember that! I have my health and happiness and I would be selfish to ask for more:)

My gift that I received today was a relatively peaceful day here at work. It has been pretty crazy and busy but today was pretty mellow, and for that I am thankful.

I forgot to write about my receives from the weekend, so here they are:

Saturday - Chatted with a very nice girl Nicole before yoga.

Sunday - Caught up on my DVR'ed shows! For a tv junkie like me this is a true gift since I usually don't have any time to watch tv and I love it!

Today I give with hope and love:)

when someone our own age dies, especially at a young age, it seems a lot more personal. your classmate's family will treasure all the memories recorded on the site. Hugs, Dawn

Your thoughtful gift, I'm sure will be appreciated. Every memory of someone we have lost is a gift as well. You sharing your memories of your friend is a warm gift.
Blessings to you and remember to always be thankful, as you said.
