29-Day Giving Challenge

Since I last wrote, I've had exciting news. At the end of May, I found out that my novel, Beautiful Wreck, was a semi-finalist in Amazon's Breakthrough Novel Contest. The contest begins with 10,000 entries. My novel made it all the way to the last fifty and I believe the last ten. I have a publisher interested and my agent is working her head off. Good stuff for a writer. I have been asked to speak at Scribbers Writing Retreat on St Simons Island this August. I will also speak again next year. My book reviews are beginning to get some notice from the publishers. And I'm not surprised when I find a package of books in my mailbox with a request to review them. I'm working on a new story collection called The Daniels Cemetery Stories. I have four stories written so far and I'm working on my fifth. I am also working on my third novel.

All is great with the exception of this heat! I hate it. My friend and ex-sister in-law is moving to SF Bay area in two weeks. I'm thinking I've never been that far west. Maybe I should hitch a ride with her. Sounds lovely. But I do have lots of writing to do here and the heat will pass. Oh say around Thanksgiving. ;)
