Yesterday I gave a long-time friend a gift of breakfast groceries. She is in serious financial straights, and word got back to me that she is having to eat at her sister's house. How many times have you heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? So I called my friend's sister, asked what kind of breakfast food she liked, headed to the local Target store, and got her some food. She was very pleased. My daughters came along with me to deliver it, and enjoyed some time in the jacuzzi of her apartment complex. It was a great day.
I would like to know from other 29ers what you have told your families about this project. Right now, I do not want suggestions for gifts from family members, so I have not told any of them, yet. I do plan to when I have more to say about the experience. I love reading the suggestions and public comments of my "29er" family, but feel the need for this project, at least this first round, to be my project, without the influence of the people receiving most of the gifts! Does anyone else feel this way?
Today is Day #4. I haven't delivered them yet, but I baked a batch of cookies this morning with the last of some home-made cookie dough that I had stashed in the fridge. I will deliver them soon to a neighbor.
