29 Gift Challenge: Day 3
* Disclaimer: I feel like I gave a lot from the heart today, but the nature of the gifts were personal and confidential. So there's more here than will meet the eye, so to speak.
I saw a client today and we had a great session that really touched my heart. And again, what I notice when I start doing this challenge in a very conscious way is that there is just NO WAY to out give the Universe. I love what I do and am paid well for it AND my client brought me a Christmas/New Years present since we did not see each other last week. It was completely unexpected and fun.
I had three e-mail interactions with three people I love. Three different relationships each with their own unique history and inherent challenges. My challenge with this is to keep telling my own truth, to step up to the plate and to invite them each into my heart. I have no attachment to outcome. Truly. That in and of itself is a miracle for me.
Another gift of this day was a long phone conversation with my mother. We talked about the work that she's having done on her house, discussed screen doors and talked about our cats. Nothing earthshattering, just connecting and chatting. Even when she thinks she has nothing interesting to say we always have interesting and entertaining conversations. Such is the nature of my mother. She's 86 now and she's a pretty cool person to know.
So that's the report on the gifts that were exchanged on this day. As I think I said somewhere back when I first started this, even if I think it's about me giving something, it's never that simple. Giving and receiving are truly one in the same activity. It's impossible to give without getting something back. The trick is being conscious of where the gift is coming from and making sure you are consciously giving back even if the gifts are coming and going from what looks like completely different people or places.
