Organic Spiced Apple Cider and League of Women Voters

Today my husband and I went to a "State of the State" address hosted by our local League of Women Voters at a nearby couple's home. Did you know that this year is the anniversary of women having the right to vote for (only) the past 90 years? As my mother taught me, you always bring a "hostess" gift when visiting someone's home. This is new to my husband and he often questions the practice saying that not everyone brings a gift when visiting our home... well was I surprised to find out not only did they provide a very inspiring and informative event, but we were treated to a lovely lunch as well! The house was amazing and the hostess, as my husband noted, was very gracious to engage with us to talk about the fabulous art work and beautiful decor of her home. She was very present with us, showing us around pointing out her favorite paintings and telling a few stories about how they were acquired even as she had about 100 people to attend to in her home. I've decided to join the League and get to know more about how I can become more actively involved in my local community and government!
