yeah, sometimes a person just needs a little "jump start."  Once you get one thing done for them it can really, as you say, perk them up

Wow, I love this Dawn.  You are really thinking outside the box.  I think I have to steal this one.  My friend that doesn't drive isn't able to decorate.  I have a small tree......  You have inspired me.

That's a lovely gift! Not only did you help your friend with a task she felt too weary to do, but you created an environment to lift her spirits! I can't think of a better gift for this time of year. :)
