So, this is the 28th day. Wow. However, giving today didn't really go as planned. I had several gifts up my sleeve but my day sort of got in the way. I never got a break at work to do any gift runs and as soon as I got home I was sucked into homework help. Rather than moan about it (which yes, I might have done otherwise), I sat down and spent several hours helping my daughter who was struggling with correcting a French assignment. This wasn't the gift I envisioned, but I think it was a gift in the end because I sat down to help her with an open heart, giving of my time willingly, rather than begrudgingly wishing I was relaxing instead. I actually think I helped her too!
I then turned to one of the other gifts that I had planned for today -- I sat down and wrote my granny a long email. She's 93 next month and has in recent years learned to use email and a cell phone. I love it.
After I wrote the letter I spent several hours pulling together an album of photos from our last visit to see my grandparents (last year) and sent those off to her. I can't believe it took me 11 months to do that! The scary thing is that if I wasn't doing the 29 day giving challenge, I might not have got to it at all. This forced me (well, I was willingly forced) to make the time. It was the gift of memories, and good times shared.
Tomorrow is the 29th day and I have an idea up my sleeve. More then.
Bonne nuit mes amis.
