Piles and Piles of French Toast and a House of Books

Saturday would have been a great day to sleep in, but as sleep is eluding me lately that just didn't happen. I also had houseguests (the Awesome Boyfriends brother and nephew were here), so I got up and brewed the first of many pots of French Press coffee...If you haven't tried it: 1. It's EASY and 2. It beats brewed coffee any day....then made a huge pile of french toast, eggs, sausage...Obviously my giving this weekend has already begun to resemble a diner, but nothing says love like HOME COOKIN'!. Then, even though I had a "to do" list 20 items long, I wanted my BF to spend time with his brother while he was here (he lives 200+ miles from us) and so I vacated to the computer to work and read and catch up on my social networking!

But the siren of the library called to me...and I answered...Having a couple of books in mind, I searched for them and found 2 of 4. I browsed in several sections and wandered towards the front to check-out (I LOVE SELF-SERVE!). Tucked away, behind a sign, in a very NON-MARKETING way, sat a wooden house, with a glass front, and some dollar bills peeking out. "What is this?", I asked myself. The sign gave me the the information I needed...it's to support the library. Now, normally, money isn't the way I give. I'm very picky about who or what I give cash donations to, but the library....without the library I wouldn't have the books I wanted to read, many children wouldn't have story time, many more people wouldn't have the Internet as a resource, or materials for school studies, and on and on and on...So I reached into my wallet and happily made a donation. A small one, but yet, at the same time if everyone who was visiting the library on this cold-November day had dropped in the same amount I did, and if on every day all the visitors did the same thing, how much money would amass?
Our library system in our county is wonderful. The buildings are clean and the employees so friendly and helpful.
Without libraries....yeah, well, I hate to think.
Today (Saturday) giving of spare change was the RIGHT thing for me to do.

Sunday is here...It's early enough in the day that all I have done is make breakfast for AB (that's Amazing Boyfriend), which I totally would have done anyway. So as the day unfolds the opportunities to turn to my giving challenge will present themselves. But right now, my tummy is full of a great breakfast and I'm headed towards the French Press pot to fill up my cup.

Ahhhh...for a week of Sunday's, what would I give?

Cheers to all of my friends both known and unknown on 29gifts, today....I look forward to reading about your stories!
