29-Day Giving Challenge

I'm on day something of round something or other... I give up on counting, numbers are evil anyway.

I got to school so early that I took myself to Burger King for a round of cinaminis this morning on the drive in and even walking around Wegmans for 20 minutes, still got in at 7:30. It felt good to be there that early and get most of what I needed done.

While in Wegmans, there was a posted note display, with really good ones- things like "My blood type is COFFEE". I found two that fit two really good friends of mine in school and left them in their mailboxes this morning.

This afternoon, my friend the English teacher was completely freaked about her impending test in her graduate level linguistics class. (I know, sounds amazingly stimulating, doesn't it? NOT.) I talked her down off the ceiling and gave her examples of things that I remember from my undergrad class to illustrate points. She got herself a diet coke and got in the car feeling a little better.

The next one I'm really excited about. My next door neighbor, a super sweet PA, has always admired the projects my mother and I work on when we knit. We have finally worn her down to taking a beginner's knitting class at the shop where we take project classes. Although she's in her early 40's, and single like me, she's very aprehensive about doing this because she's a lefty ( I knit left handed aka continental), and she's a highly visual learner. She claims that she has perception difficulties, but I think that once she gets over the "Are you sure? You're going to be so embarrassed! Don't they have knitting for dummies?" that she may relax and enjoy her work. I keep telling her everyone learns in different ways, and that she could never embarrass me. Cross your fingers. I'm going to the shop with her and going to sit in the front of the store and work on a sweater I'm a week behind on learning to do...

Well, Dancing with the Stars is coming on and I have a couple things to put together before the Office of Catholic Education comes to visit our classes tomorrow. YIKES!

Night, Night all.

What a wonderful way to start the day, early enough to treat yourself and to find two great gives for your friends. Great job scrapping your friend from the ceiling and helping her calm. You always do better on a test when you are calm.
Your neighbor is going to learn a lifetime skill because of you, this is huge.
Good luck with your visitors tomorrow.
