Shake Off The Dust (003)
All of us face our own battles. Sometimes they feel so overwhelming that we can’t imagine others going through their battles. Recently a friend of mine told me that he had broken up with his girlfriend. I am not going to tell you the details. I don’t even know that many of them. But when he told me he was pretty shaken up about it. And who wouldn’t be? That is a battle that I haven’t had to fight in a very long time…but I remember it being very painful. So today I took a few minutes to write him a message letting him know that he could call me and talk about it or vent. Guys don’t do this very much. We tend to suffer in silence. That sucks. It is a simple gesture and I hope he takes me up on my offer.
We all carry our scars with us. This is a quick drawing about holes in your heart. They never really heal all the way. Over time they get smaller….sometimes. It is unfortunate. But once in a while we learn from these things. I know I have learned from them. But my friends definitely helped. Take care.

I can tell you I certainly don't miss going through that. My BIL is 40 and dating after the end of a long relationship. I hope I never have to go through that nonsense again. Friends are a great gift during those times.
