I like to say I fell off the wagon, yet again ... a little while ago -- this is me "getting back on"
I've recommitted to the GIVE a few days ago and I pledge to do my best to keep up with the BLOG! That's always the "kicker" for me ... I do the giving -- I just have trouble with the reporting side of it.
I hope this finds you all well and happy. I'm so excited for Cami and this whole website. It's amazing how quickly it's grown and how many folks continue to "jump on board" -- I love watching the success.
So my Give started with "giving myself the chance to recommit, without beating myself up over it" -- It sounds like an easy "give" -- but I tend to be a little hard on myself when I get so busy I become "scatter" -- I'm good at feeling guilty about stuff like that. Along with the "recommitment' I made up some new rules for myself. I'm making a list of the things I give daily and when I have the extra time to come here and make it known to "the giving challenge world" I will do so. All this to be done without the pressure, or feeling of "not getting it done in time" -- I will also do my best to keep up with it much better.
Last week I sent off a "give" -- when I started this "giving game" I announced it to my "music email list" and in the spirit of the give, I did a "raffle type" game with my mailing list. I decided to "gift" a copy of both my CD's the the lucky winner at the end of the month -- I did so and I believe a "giver" was the winner. Sharon Diehl won and she should have my CD's by now -- If you are reading I hope you are enjoying them Sharon.
I also gave some fruit to the homeless person at the stop light the other day. I always try to do that -- My partner and I used to "pack a snack' in the car for that purpose ONLY. Just so we would ALWAYS have something to eat on hand and ready to "give" at any stop light. It's such a good feeling to me to do that. We've gotten out of the "pack a snack" routine ... I'll have to get back into that because it's just a great thing. Not sure why it feels so good sometimes, but it does.
I think that about wraps up this blog ... I feel like I'm forgetting a few "gives" but I'll get there in the next one.
Peace and MUCH love,
Ha.... there it is ... I "donated" my singing voice and time to a fantastic project. A friend of mine wrote this song called "Peace on Earth" and has created this huge project -- that benefits a Peace organization. I will keep you posted on how it's coming along -- We shot a video yesterday and hopefully it will be up and running soon. I will be sure to attach links as I get them.
have a great weekend
Melissa
