29-Day Giving Challenge

Sorry I took a bit of a break, school takes up lots of my time, but I am still giving every day. I need to share a story that happened yesterday.

I did my usual thing and I paid for the person in line behind me, but instead of being in the drive thru, I was in the line at the cafeteria at school. The person behind me was a fellow classmate and was confused as to why I would pay for his food. I told him to enjoy it, save the money, spend it some other time or pay for someone else sometime and then I went on my way.

Later just before class started he approached me very excitedly and stated "I have to tell you what you started. I paid for the person behind me and then sat down where I could see the checkout line. It kept going; everyone was paying for the person behind them. They were all talking, smiling and laughing, it was amazing. You made my day!"

He then asked me why I did it, if it were something to do with my religion. I explained to him that I do it because I enjoy it, and I believe in giving back to the world, that I do volunteer work, I try to give back to the earth and it is just the right thing to do. I told him that the giving part started with the 29 day giving challenge and I told him about the website, but that I never stopped when my challenge was over, because I enjoyed it to much.

As we were having this conversation several other classmates got into the conversation and began to ask questions, it was an amazing day! We'll see what happens next, maybe it will be contagious.

That's so cool!! You started something great ... a great experience for everyone in the lunch line ... and shared the challenge with some more people.

What a wonderful ripple effect!!! Something 'contagious' that is positive...just what our world needs now and always!!!

Wow, Trisha,
You really did have an amazing day yesterday. I love your give and the energy it brought to your cafeteria. Have a great day at school today. Paul gets to start school in January.
