29-Day Giving Challenge

One lesson that I have had a very hard time learning is to allow someone to give to me. I was always taught that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Therefore, it has always been hard for me to allow anyone to help me or give to me. Then one day someone made it very clear to me. When we give, we are blessed. When we don't allow someone to give to us, we are stealing their blessings. That really put things into perspective for me. I still have trouble asking someone for help, but if someone offers, I don't turn them down.

Love and Light,

Paul Landers

Thqnk you Paul for your greeting. I am looking forward to belonging to this community and to the 29 day giving challenge. I don't think it will be difficult as even a smile or a hug will ehlp someone in their day.
I broke my heel 6 weeks ago and it has been a challenge for me as I have needed alot of help. I live in the woods, have wood heat and animals and chickens. It is such a blessing to live in the small, rural community where I live. I have had so much help and support. It was hard at first to ask for help but it was essential. And people don't know sometimes how to help unless you ask them.I am belssed with wonderful family a friends that have helped me so much in so many ways.
I got the news yesterday that i would be off of my feet for another three months. So now to rise to that challenge(on one foot of course) and try to figure out all the details of my life and how to handle it.I get by with alot of help from my friends!! My giving will be done somehow ,probably from my kitchen (maybe doing some baking(i can rest my leg on my wheelchair) , or by making phonecalls or other ways.
Blessing to you Paul and to your family as well!
love toni

OHH... you're THAT Paul. : ) Yes, we've heard about you (all good things) and all you give to your wife.

Anyway ...
Loved reading this; it really is true ... stealing their blessings, yes, ... and if there were no receivers there could be no givers.

you are so right - without receivers there could be no giving. that's been a hard thing for me to learn, too. thanks for reminding me that by accepting receives i am giving others the opportunity to give. i hope you enjoy college and your new home. Hugs, Dawn

I love this post Paul. I am learning to be a better receiver. That's why in this round I am paying attention as much to what I receive as what I give. The funny thing is that I am noticing that being a better receiver makes me a better giver too. I think that is because the more you receive the more you feel you have to give. :)
