29-Day Giving Challenge

I love giving. I always have. Receiving on the other hand was much harder. I thought I was being "polite" by turning down gifts and kind gestures from people, but now I realize that giving is a two sided coin. When you give you will receive. That's just the way it is. So this round I said yes to receiving and WOW did I receive! As a result I feel so blessed, and that makes me want to give more! It's amazing how that works!

This giving journey has been amazing, and I look forward to the next round (round 5 for me) and new lessons to learn. :)

I love the lesson from Elly Rose's grandma.
Graciously receiving is a gift ...

Lubabat! I'm still learning the grace of receiving. It's difficult, but as I practice the intentional giving, learning to receive seems a bit easier. Have a wonderful day!

My Grandma taught me to be gracious when receiving a gift. On my birthday, toward the end of Grandma’s life she gave me money. Now I didn’t need the money. She did though, so I tried to not take the gift. She told me that she had been saving up for this moment, and I was not to ruin it with my pride. She asked me to let her have the dignity to give what she knew she could give. She told me she needed the blessing that came from giving and asked that I would not be a part in withholding the blessing from her. She asked me always to remember that when we are receiving a gift, our attitude in acceptance was a gift itself. Just how did she know so many years ago I would need to know those things for this challenge? Even with this lesson so long ago, I did have to relearn to receive gracefully. You have brought this to my mind again. Thanks.

So many of us have been taught that it is "polite" to refuse gifts-- isn't it lovley to discover it isn't true and unleash the true magic of giving and receiving? Lovely gift to yourself and the world! :-)
