A friend of mine posed the question recently, "What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you had been grateful for the day before?"
I thought about this question for awhile and had to admit to my friend, this question scared me. A lot. What is there to be afraid of? I asked myself. I don't spend enough time being grateful. If tomorrow I woke up with only what I had been grateful for today, I don't know that I would wake up. I very rarely make a conscious effort to be grateful for the life that flows within me.
I spend my days wishing for more: more time, more friends, more money, more happiness. I don't spend enough time being grateful for the love and joy that is plentiful in my life, instead I spend more time thinking about the should have, could have beens that never came to fruition.
So I am making a conscious effort to be grateful, thankful and joyous for all that I have, all that I have to give to the world, and all that I have yet to become. :)
